Summary of activities
|
District information window
|
A) With the aim of implementing Vision-2021 and building a digital Bangladesh, information related to the expansion of agriculture, education, health and tourism is being updated regularly through Laxmipur district information window.
B) Phone numbers including addresses of various departments of the district are being stored in the e-directory of district information window. Apart from this, information is being provided to the people about local government issues and laws and policies required for the people. Important letters containing government instructions are being stored in the digital guard file of the district information window. Menus related to front desk and union information and service center have also been opened in the district information window. A list of NGOs has also been inserted here.
C) The existing interface on the home page of the District Information Window has some more elements that the people need, such as Digital Guard File, Citizen Charter, Digital District Profile, Board / University Information, Law and Policy, Front Desk, Union Information and Service Center, People's As a result of adding meetings, list of NGOs, etc., the number of visitors to the information window is increasing day by day. The addition of digital guard files to the district information window has made it easier for the public and other departments to get the necessary government instructions. As a result, people's communication with the district administration has become closer.

Place the front desk
|
A) Front desk has been set up in room 112 on the ground floor of Laxmipur district commissioner's office in an effort to make the district administration dynamic by properly informing about the various positive and timely steps taken by the government for the welfare and service administration. A computer with a telephone has been set up at the front desk to provide information services to the public seeking services. Addresses, phone numbers, updated information of officers / employees of various offices under the district desk, room number guidelines related to the location of different office rooms and branches of the Deputy Commissioner's office, activities of different branches or public service charters have been stored in the front desk. An office assistant is providing various information to the people and helping them to communicate with different departments with the aim of providing information services to the people easily. As a result, the image of the district administration has been brightened in the entire district. In addition to the front desk, the aim is to provide "one-center service" with modern facilities in a spacious room adjacent to the front desk.
B) In addition to providing information and communication services to the people through the front desk, measures are being taken to dispose of their applications. This has created an attitude of service among the officials and employees of the district administration and the people have also welcomed it.

Weekly public meeting
|
In addition to meetings on other days of the week, every Wednesday the Deputy Commissioner listens to the grievances, complaints, petitions, petitions of the people and provides services to the people by resolving the issues that need to be settled immediately. Apart from this, the needs, complaints, petitions, petitions of the people are being settled by contacting various departments / individuals by telephone or in writing. This is creating a positive attitude of the people towards the government including alleviating the suffering of the people. People's meetings are also playing an influential role in reducing litigation. The report of the people's meeting has been published in local newspapers.

Establish LAN connection in the office of the Deputy Commissioner
|
LAN connection has already been established in 21 out of 23 rooms of Laxmipur Deputy Commissioner's Office. A letter has already been sent to the Bangladesh Computer Council requesting it to take necessary steps to establish LAN connection in the remaining rooms of the office. With the establishment of this network, the inter-communication system between the various branches of this office has been improved and this will facilitate the exchange of information on the one hand, on the other hand ensure transparency and accountability of the administration and provide fast and low cost services to the people.

Branch based Citizen Charter
|
In order to create more dynamism in public administration and improve the quality of service in government activities, various branch based Citizen Charters have been prepared in the office of Laxmipur Deputy Commissioner and steps have been taken to inform the public about it. Citizen Charter is also being displayed at the District Information Window and Front Desk.

Education matters
|
One of the goals of Vision-2021 is to increase the net enrollment rate to 100% at the primary level by 2010 and to build an illiterate Bangladesh by 2014. Various steps have been taken by the Deputy Commissioner, Laxmipur to achieve this goal
A) In order to increase the participation rate of women in the field of education, public opinion is being formed by holding various meetings and seminars by the Deputy Commissioner to prevent eve-teasing and to prevent violence against women. Apart from the district administration officials, officials of various departments are being encouraged to visit the educational institutions regularly to get success in this regard.
B) The officials of the district administration were constantly involved in printing the textbooks and delivering the books to the schools with the aim of distributing free textbooks among the students. Due to the intensive involvement of the district administration, the students are on time this year.
C) The district and upazila administration has closely monitored the provision of stipends to the students to prevent them from dropping out of school. Besides, the Upazila Nirbahi Officers were directly involved in the construction and renovation of various educational institutions. As a result, the number of students in schools is increasing.
D) Seminars are being organized with the participation of Upazila Parishad Chairmen of different Upazilas, Headmasters of Primary Schools, Presidents of SMCs and Upazila level officials for the betterment of primary education. All concerned think that the mentioned activities will have a positive impact on the development of the quality of primary education.
E) SSC and HSC examinations have been held this year in a completely copy-free environment under the leadership of the Deputy Commissioner. This has created an atmosphere conducive to study in educational institutions.
F) For the first time under the leadership of the Deputy Commissioner, the final examination of primary education has been held centrally. The image of the government has been brightened by the smooth completion of such examinations.
