Red Crescent, Lakshmipur

The Red Crescent Society has always played an active role in various charitable activities of the society. The members of the unit have been performing various activities since 2012 in a very dynamic and efficient manner. Among the activities are voluntary blood donation program, blood collection, first aid training, disaster relief, observance of various national and international days with due dignity.



Principles


The basic tenets of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement were unanimously determined at the 20th International Conference of 1975, according to the "Fundamental Principles of the Movement". This doctrine defines the scope and scope of humanitarian work with the help of Red Cross and Red Crescent workers and volunteers. At the same time, this doctrine brings international recognition for the promotion of the ideals and human values of this activity.


Humanity

The International Committee of the Red Cross and the Crescent is always ready to extend a helping hand in any humanitarian crisis at the international and national level, starting with the promise of service to the wounded on the battlefield, forgetting the racial differences. Its goal is to give people full dignity as human beings through life and health care. Mutual understanding, brotherhood, cooperation and the establishment of unbreakable peace among all the world.


Equivalence

The Red Cross and the Crescent do not discriminate on the basis of race, caste, ethnicity, religion or political ideology. These two organizations are trying to alleviate the suffering of any person, only those who need help more than others are more important here.


Neutrality

The Red Cross and the Crescent never engage in any form of political, racist, religious or ideological strife or division in order to gain the trust of the public.


Freedom

The Red Cross and the Crescent are basically not under anyone. Respecting the laws of any country, the government supports various humanitarian activities, but this organization never deviates from the main goal of the activities.


Volunteering

In this activity everyone voluntarily works spontaneously, no one expects any kind of personal or group gain.


Unity

Any country has only one Red Cross or Red Crescent. This service is open to all. This organization continues its activities in every part of the country.


Universality

Everyone has equal rights in the International Committee of the Red Cross and Red Crescent, all of whom share the same responsibilities and extend a helping hand worldwide.

 


The Honorable President of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh is also the Ex-Officio of our Society. The President elects the Chairman of the Society every 3 years. The Chairman may hold this office twice in a row. The Secretariat of the Society is located at the BDRCS National Headquarters, Bara Magbazar. The Secretariat is headed by the elected Secretary General of the Managing Board. He is also the ex-officio secretary of the managing board. The Managing Board also appoints a Deputy Secretary General to conduct his work in the absence of the Secretary General. The Secretariat consists of five departments - Disaster Management, Healthcare, Planning and Development, Central Support Services and Accounting. BDRCS consisting of a total of 6 units with one unit in each district of Bangladesh and in Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi and Khulna metropolitan cities.



Our current activities


The ICRC provides security and assistance to victims of organized and organized armed violence in Bangladesh. The ICRC is responsible for informing and enacting international humanitarian law among various administrations, educational institutions, law enforcement agencies and the armed forces. The organization also contributes to the capacity building of the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society, its national partner. Using a worldwide tracing network, ICRC and the Bangladesh Red Crescent return missing persons to their relatives and assist in the repatriation of Bangladeshis stranded abroad. The organization also works to rehabilitate the most destitute and crippled people in the country.
